The Journey Begins…

As of a couple weeks ago, Jeff became active on the national kidney donation list. Soon after, we started peritoneal dialysis training with our nurse, Brian, at Fresenius. It has been challenging (sixty boxes of supplies all at once one week late!) but also there has been a sense of relief that it is no longer a complete mystery. For many years, Jeff took such good care of himself that he was able to delay this process.

We are so blessed that he has the option to do it at home as it has a greater chance of preserving kidney function which is vital for him at Stage 5. Please come back as I will continue to update you all on the process and hopefully soon, let you all know we have found a match.
